Registration
rates. The 2010 Aquaknights Swim Team registration fee is $250 for one swimmer,
$425 for two swimmers in the same family, $600 for three, and $775 for four swimmers.
The rate is the same as 2009 and includes a FINIS swim package of a team competition
swim suit, high tech goggles, and cap – a package retailing for over $75.00! (Please
note that the registration fee for swimmers 15 years old and older is $125, but
the work assignment requirements, DHSC membership, and swim package are modified
for this age group.)
DHSC membership. During the swim season, swimmers
aged 4 to 14 years old must be members of Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa for
only 3.5 months (15 April to 31 July) even though the season extends into August.
DHSC has NO long-term membership commitments and the processing fee of $200 is
waived for all Aquaknights swimmers and their families. The rates are $59/month
for a single membership, $99/month for two members, $129/month for three, and
$149/month for four members or more.
Cost benefit. With over 100
opportunities for swimmers to either practice or compete with high quality coaching
at a premier facility, these low team fees are comparable to previous seasons
and equate to approximately $3.10 per swimmer per team event! This is lower than
visiting the local waterpark and members have use of the facility beyond team
activities.
Come to signups for several reasons, including:
Swimmers
are fitted for new team suits
Swimmers select goggle style
All parents
need to sign up for work assignments
Pre-order other team merchandise like
sweats, jackets, t-shirts, etc.
Pick up your copy of the team handbook and
schedule

Relay for Life of Oakley We are forming a team to participate in the American
Cancer Society Relay for Life in Oakley on Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2. Held
at Freedom High School Basin (1050 Neroly Road, Oakley), the event begins at 9:00am
on Saturday and progresses non-stop for 24 hours, concluding on Sunday at 9:00am.
Relay for Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million
people every year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember
loved ones lost, and empower individuals and communities to fight back against
a disease that takes too much from too many. The event is filled with live music,
activities, contests, education and much more. If you are interested in participating
please email
the team so we can send you additional information on how you can help
celebrate lives, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and fight back against
cancer!
NEW CHAMPIONSHIP MEET! The Aquaknights Swim Team
Parent Board has decided to make a positive impact on swimmers and their families
throughout the Bay Area by introducing a new qualification championship meet as
swimmers in many counties and areas do not currently have such a venue. Scheduled
for August 7-8, 2010, at Merrill F. West High School in Tracy, we are initiating
the Greater Bay Area All Stars Championship Meet to give swimmers from multiple
counties throughout the entire San Francisco Bay Area from Sacramento to the valley
an opportunity to conclude their successful summer recreational swim season in
a large championship meet. Envisioned to celebrate swimmers’ season accomplishments,
this qualification meet will enable the “best of the best” in the Bay Area to
compete as an All Star! Swimmers who meet
minimum time qualification standards or finish in the top eight in an individual
event at their respective league, city, or area final meet are eligible to compete
in this championship meet! With the full support of the parent board and DHSC,
Jeff Lapum is spearheading this effort and he needs your assistance to make this
exciting event a reality. Please email
if you are interested!
PARENT
BOARD OPENINGS! Are you interested in making a difference in young athletes'
lives and working with a group of dedicated parents? Aquaknights Swim Team Parent
Board has a few openings available and we greatly appreciate all volunteers.
Please

and request to be removed from our email contact list. Thank you.
When we made the
decision to join Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa last year we could not have
envisioned a better season for our swimmers and families. Thank you to the dedicated
parents and friends who supported our children daily, the outstanding coaching
staff who focused on technique, encouragement, and fun, and the hard working swimmers
who set high goals and achieved them!
